IRA Contribution Deadline – April 15

April 15, 2025, is also the last day to make contributions to your Roth or Traditional IRA for the 2024 tax year.

2024 IRA contribution limits:

  • $7,000 for individuals under 50

  • $8,000 for individuals 50 and older


Self-Employment Retirement Plans – October 15

If you're self-employed and filed for a tax extension in April, October 15 is your deadline to make 2024 contributions to SEP IRAs or solo 401(k)s.


Looking Ahead: 2025 Contribution Limits

Roth and Traditional IRA limits remain:

  • $7,000 (under age 50)

  • $8,000 (age 50+)

Roth IRA income eligibility:

  • Single filers: MAGI under $150,000

  • Married filing jointly: MAGI under $236,000
