Derek has enjoyed a career in Education and Coaching for the past 26 years. In his time in the field, he specialized in Biology, teaching the subject to middle school and high school aged students.

He has spent the majority of his career at the high school level coaching football (Offensive Coordinator) and baseball as the varsity assistant. In 2023, Derek was named the campus “Teacher of the Year” and was mentioned in the “Who’s Who Among American Teachers” publication.

Derek is the proud father of Taryn (24) and Abrey (21). Both of his daughters were college volleyball players and are both pursuing higher degrees in the medical field.

Derek enjoys spending time with his family and golf.
