Bill Whitsell has been in the insurance industry for over 40 years. His father raised him and his five brothers while working as an agent for Bankers Life of Des Moines, now Principal. After college, Bill chose to build his career in the insurance industry. Over four decades in a Home Office environment, he has successfully led companies in operations, underwriting, product innovation, leadership development, and sales growth. He brings deep expertise in market differentiation, revenue generation, and expanding market share, with a strong track record of building and sustaining high-impact partnerships, refining risk selection, developing teams, identifying new market opportunities, and driving profitability.

He has extensive experience across affluent, middle-income, business, group, and specialty segments within the life and annuity industry. His background also includes Disability Income, Long-Term Care, Major Medical, business coverage, Medicare Supplement, and chronic, critical, and terminal living benefits, as well as group sales. Bill has held multiple senior leadership roles, including Head of Operations and Chief Underwriting Officer, overseeing functions such as Claims, Licensing and Contracting, Business Metrics, Technology, Reinsurance and Capital Management, and Business Acquisition and Distribution.

Bill and his wife, Lori, reside in Woodway, Texas. They have six children—three sons and three daughters—and three grandchildren. Two of their children, along with one daughter-in-law, are also in the insurance industry. He enjoys traveling, sports, spending time with friends, and participating in church activities.
